Executive Director Simone Stewart

Simone was born and raised in Long Beach, CA. and earned a Bachelor's degree in History of Art and Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley.

Simone moved to Southern Oregon in 1992 and held careers in teaching, marketing technology; computer repair, technology services operations management; arts marketing/events planning/performance venue management; wine buying and wine sales/distribution. She owned and operated a consignment home furnishings and decor store in Ashland, OR. from 2000-2002.

Simone served as a director on over a dozen nonprofit boards in Southern Oregon during her 29 years there. Simone began a volunteer career in public service in 2014, by serving on the City of Medford Arts Commission holding Vice Chair and Chairperson positions from 2017-2021. She served as the Chairperson for the Medford/Jackson County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors; the Ashland Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors; and as Board Secretary and President of the Talent Chamber of Commerce DBA the Talent Business Alliance. Notably, she served as the President and Chairperson of the Women's Leadership Connection (WLC)/Women's Leadership Conference of Southern Oregon (2020-2022) and sat on conference planning committees since the inception of the WLC in 2012.

Simone moved to Silverton in 2021 as an employee of the City of Silverton. In 2023 Simone took a hiatus from public service to film the Netflix show The Trust, which premiered in January 2024. Simone still appears on screen, and has performed over 70 stage roles since moving to Oregon; including performing at Brush Creek Playhouse, Pentacle Theatre, and Gallery Theatre since moving to Silverton.

Simone is thrilled to have made the career move to nonprofit leadership on February 1, 2024; utilizing all of her career and volunteer skills and experience to benefit the Silverton area 50+ community.
