Unfortunately Laurel Smith, our planned speaker for our January 2024 meeting, has been injured and won’t be presenting. We wish her a speedy recovery and hope to reschedule her for Spring 2024. Laurel represents the Oregon Genealogical Society, which has the most prominent Genealogy library in the Pacific North West and we look forward to learning about this valuable, and local, resource from Laurel.
We will meet as planned to view “Migration: New England To and Through New York” by Kyle Hurst, Senior Genealogist, Newbury Street Press. As the pre-eminent entry port for immigrants, New York has loomed large in the family history of most Americans. We will follow the pre-recorded presentation with a ‘round table’ discussion of our own experiences, and research ideas on this topic.
Kyle’s presentation was first presented November, 2022 by the New England Historical Genealogy Society as a webinar. The Newbury Street Press is the New England Historic Genealogical Society’s publishing arm, with over 80 books in print. Learn more about American Ancestors.
