Meet the Candidates

 Bob Foster

Bob Foster

Employment Experience: 40+ years in the animation/publishing business in Los Angeles.

Volunteer / Board Experience: Current Senior Center board member, quirky dabbling in fundraising activities, an occasional valid idea.

Statement: I kind of enjoy the challenge of being creative within the limited parameters of the mission, goals, needs and budgets of the Senior Center.  I like finding ways to generate some laughs and fun for members without incurring serious injury to anyone’s wallet or pocket book.


David Marinos

Employment Experience: 35+ years as an electrician

Volunteer / Board Experience: Silverton Grange pancake breakfasts; Silverton Kiwanis 16 years, Oktoberfest booth and club projects; Silverton Lions 15 years; Silverton Garden Club, Treasurer, 2 years.

Statement: Silverton Senior Center is a resource that fills a need.  I can do my part to see that the center continues to be a useful organization.  Being a Center Director is another way to be of service to the Silverton community.


David Roofener

Employment Experience: 35 years in the logging industry, seven years in long hauling and construction.

Volunteer / Board Experience: My wife Judy is the manager at the Senior Center Thrift Shop.  I have been volunteering there since July 2017.

Statement: I enjoy working with customers and Judy, organizing the store, helping out where I can, and where needed and learning about merchandising.


Dixie Springer

Employment Experience: Bookkeeper, Silver Gardens Care Center

Volunteer / Board Experience: Volunteer at Senior Center

Statement: I feel this is a worthy organization.


Lisa Santana

Employment Experience: 16 years in real estate.  Principal Real Estate Broker and owner of Bledsoe Santana Team Realty.  As a Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) and Certified Age-in-Place Specialist, I especially enjoy working with seniors and their families to help facilitate a smooth transaction. 

Volunteer / Board Experience: Currently serving as Treasurer of North Willamette Association of Realtors

Statement: I love my community and enjoy serving people to help make it a better place to live.  I feel I have experience that could be valuable to the Senior Center as a board member.


Madeline Osborne

Employment Experience: Quality and manufacturing engineer; maintained enormous databases, wrote technical job instructions and department procedures.

Volunteer / Board Experience: Currently on the Senior Center board as treasurer, membership chair, front desk volunteer.  Help with fundraisers; help update the policies and procedures for the Center.

Statement: To assist the board in demonstrating to the community that older adults are very active people, a vital part of our community, and are having loads of fun every day at our Center.


Scott Walker

Employment Experience: 25 years in Michigan government – mostly in the Department of Management and Budget

Volunteer / Board Experience: Silver Falls School, Hospital Care Van driver, Silverton City Council, Soil and Water Conservation Board

Statement: I want to improve SASI’s provision of services to citizens of Silverton area.

Jan 26 - Post candidate positions and community notices

Feb 28 - Last day for candidates to file

March 9 - Ballots mailed to members

March 18 - Meet and greet potluck, introduce candidates

April 11 - Last day to turn in ballots

April 13 - Ballots counted, candidates notified, Board President notified

April 15 - Annual Membership potluck, Board recognition, Business meeting
